About Me I am a science fiction author and social advocate for change. I believe in equality and fairness for all life -- no matter race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, sexual choices, ability, or even species. Deeply concerned with global warming and habitat destruction, I have been involved in companion bird non profits for most of my adult life. I share my life with two cockatiel cockatoos whom I cherish and want to adopt more parrots. Planting trees and responsible, organic agriculture is key to our immediate future, as is the recognition that all species are connected; kill any animal anywhere and the entire planet suffers.

As a writer, I am author of the "Peers of Beinan" science fiction trilogy. I also write regularly for Yahoo Voices.

My Philosophy Every individual must choose her or his own spiritual path. There is no one truth, right path that is best for everyone. Habitat destruction leads to global warming and global extinction of an increasing number of species on this planet.
What Gives Me Hope Ecotourism and the Indonesian Parrot Project which rehabs those surviving parrots the Indonesian government are able to reclaim from poachers. They badly need money and equipment. These are Threatened species people...HELP THEM or precious parrots we take for granted in the pet trade will be extinct in the wild. The same cockatoos are already extinct in most other corners of their territory. This rehab group is the last hope for four or five species of parrot!!
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by Take away the profit for those who cut down trees over 50 years old, especially in rain forests and other vulnerable habitats. Criminalize abuse of companion parrots. Sponsor wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
What/who changed my life and why Anne Boleyn has been one of my biggest role models. She was a very strong woman in a time when demure silence was expected. She loved without reservation. She held strong convictions and was unafraid to pursue them. She also did not change who she was just because others wanted to her--a true female role model!

    Hi- the bird in my profile pic is my 12 year old cockatiel (male) Oskar (yes, yellow head, mostly)... I have another cockatiel, 12 years of age, named Sebasjenne (also a rescue bird)- Sebasjenne plucks his feathers quite a bit (psychological reasons). I also have a 20 year old rescue cat (female) named Huxley (don't worry, I don't let the cat "play" with the birds- my cat was declawed before I got her and a very gentle cat, but I still won't risk it). Thanks for friending me!
