Welcome to My Care2 Page!
My passions are photography and creative writing. The plants mini eco-system on my deck was home to a colony of green tree frogs during Fall 07 and Spring 2008. I share my home with a cat family and a dog, who is a mixed breed rescued by me and a friend as a puppy.

My oldest "King" cat, a 12 year old beautiful long haired tabby rescued from a litter of abandoned kittens, died Aug. 22, 2008. During Spring 2000, he brought home a feral Calico mother with 4 kittens. The mother cat left after she knew her kittens were being well cared for by me. I still have 2 of the original kittens, now 10 years old, Goldilocks (neutered male) and Calico (spayed female). I also have Cali's calico daughter, Mardigras, and 4 of her beautiful children from two litters.
Winter 2009-2010 has been Cold, Gray, and rainy on the Texas coast. During September 09, the severe drought ended. Now, we have had months of cold gray days and rain. Fortunately, it has been too cold for the usual infestations of mosquitoes; when it rains. It is early March, and still cold!
My thoughts turn to the Heartland.
My friend Cecil is serving an 18 year federal sentence
in Kentucky since February 2007 for getting busted
tor growing marijuana a 2nd time.
He was involved with in an underground grow operation
in the hills of Kentucky. Cecil is ½ American Indian.
His best friend and a forever true love of mine, Ricky D. reached out to me thru my dreams to contact Cecil awhile back.
I had lost total touch with Cecil since the 2006 arrest.
We have not seen each other since 1992.
My last visit with Rick was along the Gulf of Mexico during 1990;
after he chose to part ways.
Unknown to me until after contacting Cecil thru the FCI prison system, Rick had overdosed prior to my dreams,
another beautiful and compassionate Vietnam War Marine Warrior
lost his life to the War on Drugs.
My friend Cecil is also a Vietnam War Marine Warrior,
served two tours of duty in Vietnam,
and received a purple heart for his bravery.
Many Veterans are our unsung American heroes,
having written a blank check to the United States
to defend our freedoms with their lives.
A 2 ft. yellow and black racer snake invaded the frogs' domain in the Spring 2008 and seriously depleted the frog population. No snakes allowed on my deck! The frogs departed after their numbers dwindled. A few have briefly returned this Spring.
In late July 2008, before Poohbear passed away, the cats surprised me and brought home an abandoned/feral small creamy yellow tabby male, circa 6-7mos. old. He had a bad cut and puncture wound under his right ear and was emaciated. He is now a healthy member of the family.
I continue to miss "Pooh" immensely!
My first book of poetry & prose was published in 2004, "Dreamcatcher Whirlwinds". It is available at:

Have a Fantastic Life!!!
Tribute to Ricky Dan Ferguson
A day of rest, my friend,
Sunshine’s bright rays
Warm this May day.
The weary soldier’s boots
Are empty now.
He was a brave Marine soldier
And warrior, fighting all his life
For the freedom and love of his friends.
Then he succumbed to his mortal pain,
From his day fighting in the Tet Offensive,
Firing at a sniper in the Royal Citadel, in Vietnam;
When a sniper’s weapon
wounded him for life.
He took the drugs to end his daily pain;
Which worsened as the years passed.
His heart was bleeding tears of love
As his spirit gently left his mortal body.
Angels of light greeted him,
As he took one last look
At his now silent body.
Now, he dwells in the light of our creator,
No longer restrained by the pain
Of his mortal earthly existence.
Ricky Dan, thank you for sharing your love
And your life with me for awhile,
During your years as a brave freedom warrior.
You have given me the opportunity
and experience to know
the depths, and touch the heights
of true love known by soul mates
unlimited by human frailties.
You have reached out and made love to my spirit
While was my earthly body was quietly sleeping.
You persisted thru my dreams
To have me reach out to your best friend,
The other love of my life,
As he lives surrounded by concertina wire,
Serving an 18 years federal sentence
For growing marijuana,
Another Vietnam Marines soldier,
And warrior for our freedoms,
Who completed two tours in Vietnam,
And received a Purple Heart for his bravery.
On this Memorial Day 2009 and every day,
We should thank our U.S. soldiers, Freedom fighters,
For their continuing sacrifices
To make the United States once more
The freedom loving Democracy
Our founding fathers envisioned it would be.
