OK, so I like natural history.
Intelligent, cultured, articulate, fit, active, healthy and adventurous adrenaline addict seeks friends (maybe more) and soul mate.
Interests include travel, hill walking (I'd love a walking partner), wild camping, music (classical, folk, some rock), reading, cookery and drama. I'm especially interested in anyone who loves the great outdoors! My idea of excitement involves exploring wild places and pushing myself to extremes.
I've left my political leaning blank, as US definitions differ from those here. I'm probaly best described as Green-ish, but am not involved with any political party, as they're all self-serving liars. I campaign on social justice, environmental and sustainability issues.
I've also got a bad case of the travel bug. I've been to New Mexico (to see a friend), India (mostly alone, but I did spend time with Indian friends) and Canada (hiking and camping).
Top of my current list of places to go to include Poland, Lebanon, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Malaysia and a return trip to India. Canada would also be worth a return trip.
One of my more interesting contradictions. Spiritually, I'm an animist. Socially and politically, I accept the scientific process and I believe in developing social and political policy through the principles of secular humanism. I think religion should be kept out of it.
Be warned. I'm congenitally scruffy!

Spiritual but not religious,
|Wild Fact About Me
||I'm known to travel thousands of miles to visit a woman I thought was Miss Right. She wasn't, but I'm still a hopeless romantic!
||Treat others as you'd expect to be treated and treat the planet with respect.

|What/who changed my life and why
||Life is a learning experience, but reading books by authors such as Gandhi and Thoreau, and trying to understand their perspectives, have had important influences on my thinking. Travelling, especially in the developing world (India; New Mexico), opened my eyes to a lot of human suffering.
