One day appeared a little opening in a cocoon. A man watched the butterfly to-be for some hours, how it fought to force its body through the tiny hole. Then suddenly it seemed that it couldn’t get on. It seemed as it came as far as it could, but couldn’t get on on his own.So the man decided to help. He took the scissors and opened the cocoon. The butterfly could get out easily. But it had a stunted body, it was tiny and had shriveled wings. The man went on watching, because he expected, that the wings would open every moment, would expand and spread, to prop the body of the butterfly and give it resilience. But nothing happened! Instead of that the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling with a stunted body and shreveled wings. Never was it able to fly. What the man didn’t understand in his mercy and benevolence, was, that the limitative cocoon and the struggle, that is needed to get the butterfly through the little opening, is natures way to get liquid from the butterfly’s body in its wings. Thereby it gets prepared for the flight when it reaches freedom of the cocoon.
Sometimes the struggle is exactly what we need in our life. If we would be allowed to walk through life without any obstacles, it would paralyze us. We wouldn’t be so strong that we could be, and never able to fly. I asked for strenght … and I got troubles, to make me strong. I asked for wisdom … and I got problems, to solve them and thereby achieve wisdom. I asked for wealth … and I got a brain and muscular strength to work. I asked for courage … and I got obstacles to overcome. I asked for love … and I got anxious and uneasy people with problem to bestead. I asked for decisions … and I got opportunities. “I got nothing I wanted … but I got everything I needed.” Live your life without fear. Face all obstacles knowing that you can and will overcome them.
