    The story of Ancient Diolkos provides insight into some aspects of today's GREEK CRISIS, the people, the practices, the mentalities!

    The monument is being dismembered for decades BY the Corinth Canal (= Greek Ministry of Finance & local government), all this backed-up BY the Ministry of Culture!

    Diolkos' protection HAD been LINKED to a series of mock studies FOR the CANAL, whose Board of Directors included a high official of the MINISTRY OF FINANCE and 2 LOCAL GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES. Their interrelations, affiliations, clienteles, weighed down on the defenseless Diolkos.

    Any "care" of the Ministry of Culture is directed to covering up the multiple Canal frauds, plus the "ensuing" avalanche of frauds for Diolkos itself. They method is to take what seems to be a step towards the monument's protection, advertise it, convince people to wait... and then take several steps backwards.
