I spent February 2009 on the Mediterranean island of Malta to volunteer as a vet at a dog sanctuary with 130 dogs. I had a great time but the weather was horrible, about 6-12 degrees, lots of rain and storm and hail. Just my luck. During the 4 weeks I neutered 38 dogs and 2 cats, cleaned a lot of teeth and ears, treated wounds and abscesses and many other things. The dogs are wonderful!!! I loved them all and was sad to go home. However, I did not go home alone. With me on the flight to Germany were two dogs. Angel, an older Pointer female that I operated on and a puppy with a head injury named Trisha. The puppy has found a home and so has Angel.
