As I said before my papa farmed by the weather not using irrigation or watering of any kind other than the natural rain that we got. I don't know how he did it in Texas, but he did and we had beautiful hay crops. Eventually, he convinced our bossman to switch from hay that the cows wasted parts of to coastal hay which the horses and cows both loved and ate every bit of because he thought feeding them something that they would eat all of and not leave stems, etc was less wasteful. He was a good man and a good farmer.
