Names after the Curetes, the group of six priests who guarded the holy flame on the hestia (hearth) in the Council Chamber (Pyrtaneion). The carriageway was paved in marble and lined with colonnades on both sides. Lined with statues on bases. The Baths of Scolastica, complete with brothel and public toilets (see photo) were to the right as the street approached the library. 17th June 1991
