Jules was also a State Senate Nominee around this time, in N/NE Portland, Oregon's most racially diverse district. As PR Chair, jules convinced Oregon Democrats that a big part of our future would be to include more Volunteers in making democracy work by using the Internet to involve people whenver they wanted. Few got the concept back then, but they allowed $50 for our first humble web site. New party Volunteer from WA CO Brad Avakian (now a State Senator) contributed to improve the site; Harry Demerest invested in Database Voter Contact tools, and loyal Volunteer Jenny built the Multnomah County site into a tool that could help people get active. With the advent of the BLOG, on-line newsletters and list-serves, and the Dean and Move-On Phenomenon proving that people could back what they believe in and make overnight change - with Dollars, BOY WAS I RIGHT! I did receive recognition online for being an Online Pioneer in Volunteer organizing. That was for a 50 State volunteer outreach on the 25th Anniversary of Roe V Wade. See Concentric.org for info on that National broadcast organizing project. I'm rarely on Television now, but back then was a regular Commentator and TV Host, on politics.
