Upon arrival at the webcam site, AVO personnel discovered that snow and a small amount of ash had blown into the camera housing through vents designed to allow heat exchange. They also discovered that the threaded nut which is built into the webcamera had somehow been sheared off, resulting in the camera sliding off its mount inside the housing. The housing and camera were cleaned, the camera was attached to the mount using parachute cord, the heat exchange vents were stuffed with bubble wrap and grey foam, and the housing was resealed.
