Beneath the crew member still at work on the rigging, is the ship's capstan (the long cylindrical thing with the post sticking out of it). Another crew member was kind enough to show us how it worked for hauling heavy objects like pulling up the anchor. Squalicum Harbor, July 27, 2006.
