This is my Irish Wolfound mix, Savannah. She was found wandering the streets in the middle of nowhere where her previous owners decided to dump her. She was picked up by a high-kill animal shelter that actually had her scheduled to be put down within of three days. Luckily however, she was rescued by a no-kill shelter who posted an adoption notice for her on petfinder.com. My family and I fell in love the second we saw her picture and we drove 7 hours to pick her up. Among many other health problems that resulted in weekly trips to the vet, she weighed barely forty pounds and was terrified of humans. At the same time though, she wanted nothing more than to be loved and would occasionally paw or nudge for attention, despite her fears. A year later, Savannah has gained about thirty pounds and is a happy and healthy puppy. Her favorite activities include: walks, squeaky toys, going to the dog park, and cuddling.
