floating naked
just my face above water
blue sky ringed with evergreens
back in the womb
some Native Americans
prized turquoise
representing
Sky in Earth
makes perfect sense
suspended now in
turquoise lake
revitalizing wetness
the union of
Father Sky
&
Mother Earth
an intercourse
making life possible
for those of us
in between
Forest is green
but oh so dry
I lift my flute
to the Eagle
asking him
to bring the rain
night and day pass
lone grey cloud
appears in blue sky
I dance a little dance
hoping he has friends
with dusk comes the wind
invigorating gusts
followed by thunder
my smile
breaks to laughter
as first drops fall
then despite lightning flashing
storm dark night
I climb to a peak
naked once again
arms outstretched
til my hair is good and wet
giving thanks
for turquoise
