altar bike costume desert friend owl poster store wilderness

wooden owl from a thrift store - this became part of my "Treebeard" procession costume in 2003. The vintage bike poster was acquired while I was coordinating the 2003 Bicycle Commuter Contest and looking for theme ideas. The desert altar was inspired by visits to my friend Gayle in Sedona and my pilgrimages to Burning Man. The forest altar above it pays tribute to the great NW, my work as a wilderness ranger last summer, and my pursuit of a Masters in Environmental Studies at Evergreen State College.
