We recently passed a nice little milestone: our ten millionth member signed up on Dec. 26, 2008. We don’t tend to make a big deal of things like this around here, as we’re more focused on getting results and helping people change the world for the better… but hey, it is ten million* and that’s a pretty big number for a little organization like Care2.
One of coolest facts about this is that we’ve never done any real advertising. All these folks came because their friends told them about us, or because they did a search and liked what they saw. So, a big Thank You to all of you who have invited your friends, posted your blogs, news stories, petitions, comments, photos and helped make Care2 such a success!
December will mark our busiest month ever, with approximately 4.5 million visitors to the site, plus millions more who receive our newsletters and action alerts. This is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what we think is possible, so it’s great to see so many people embracing a more Conscious lifestyle – living more sustainably, and taking action to change the world around them.
Imagine ten million butterflies creating the change they wish to see in the world... it's happening!
Thank you to the Care2 team, and all our members who have made this possible!
* in case you’re interested, we’ve actually had far more than 10 million signups over the years, but we periodically reduce the count to reflect the natural obsolescence of accounts and better reflect the number of members still active with the site and our newsletters.

I agree ... it is amazing that Care2 now has 10 million members and counting!
Hard to imagine ... but, then again, perhaps not as we consider today what Senator Obama will achieve in a few hours from now!
His incredible journey .. with the pinnacle of becoming President against so may odds .. sounds out a loud clarion call of HOPE out across our weary and worn world.
Maybe Randy you ...( or a Care2 member who has the essential media on Capitol Hill connections!) ... could bring your Blog and network to the attention of Obama's new Care team.
I live in Australia ... and even here we sense a lift in the mood of those around us as this new day dawns .. toward a new and sincere focus on each individual caring for our fellow human beings .. and all sentient beings in the earth's overall ecology.
There is at last a gathering promise of hope ... as "just in time", during this relentless period of unprecedented crisis and mayhem right across our world ... we NOW "get the chance" TODAY to turn the page on what was oblivion.
We all (almost every "thinking" human) now look to Obama ... as the Leader who even now BEFORE his inauguration "stands tall among men"
... who has consistently, over 2+years in every speech, radiated a genuine sincerity and service to his fellow beings, irrespective of their origin or perceived status.
Let those who truly wish for a "real" positive change in the future of our plane - reflected in less poverty, better shelter & access to appropriate resources, and saved lives - determine to follow Obama's lead and actually "DO things to make a difference" - just as he did on this his last day by turning up his shirt sleeves an taking a roller to paint the walls of a care shelter .
He did not just hang back, wait and watch ... he showed it is time to act, helping others, in a spirit of caring compassion!
May all of you in the US have a truly joyous and memorable Day of celebration as you honour your founding fathers and install your new Leader ... may each and everyone be blessed!
Keep Obama's precious close family safe for him to often return home to for an essential chance to relax, reflect and recharge and just "be" ... as past press photos/film of show him doing so well!
