Just recently, the Senate introduced bill S.384, "Global Food Security Act of 2009". This legislation proposes an increase in financial aid to developing foreign countries to improve agriculture, food security, rural economies, emergency response to food crises, and ultimately poverty alleviation. The proposed budget changes would take place throughout fiscal years 2010-2014. Read more about this bill and keep up with its status here.
