Name:Eleanor B
Type:Tribute (for the living)
To Honor:Individual(s)
Location:Wishaw, United Kingdom

This is going to be, in all senses, short and sweet!

I have to thank care2 for meeting a person I have come to love and know pretty well.  Eleanor is another sister to me and I know that I am the sister she never had. But who is Eleanor?

Simply the most caring, compassionate and fair person I have ever met. A mother who adores her children and would do anything for them.  Rejoices or cries for her cats - all 8 of them - actually since I met them, we cry together if anything happens to one of them. All either from shelters but, I think mainly off the streets. Great fun to be with and not a bad bone in her body. Such a sense of humour.

So this is my tribute to Eleanor - one of care2's best - but to me a sister in every way.  I love you Eleanor Boyd!

She is going to be so embarrassed by this public tribute but she also knows I mean every word written here!

You can see us together in Scotland last summer here:

Made a silly spelling mistake in the first version - terrible for an English teacher!

I agree she is one very special person for all her work for those that are detained unfairly, for caring for others and her Human Rights support for those about to be sent back to other countries and facing possible imprisonment and torture or even worse.

I am very happy to see this post. I have come to know a bit thru phone calls. She is soo very passionate about her causes...which of course as we all know are CATS...and the detainees, some of whom she actually visits. What a beautiful compassionate soul. I am so proud to have her as a friend and hope also to meet her one of these days. She is a true warrior for human rights. Love you Eleanor.

Jessie, yes you are the sister I never had so I am just as glad as you that we met. I have had lovely times with you in Formigine and here and I just wish we lived closer! It's just as well we can blether online - whenever you can drag yourself away from the dog shelter! Thank you for this kindness even though it is truly mortifying! I am looking forward so much to your visit this August! What a character you are!
