EXACTLY WHY OBAMA WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT IS BECAUSE OF THE HEALTHCARE ISSUE THAT PLAGUES THIS COUNTRY. ALL THOSE REMARKS ABOUT MAKING AMERICA MORE "EUROPEAN" BY THE REPUBLICAN RIGHT. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE MORALS OF A COUNTRY THAT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS SICK, ITS OPPRESSED, ITS POOR, OR EVEN ITS MIDDLE CLASS? DISENFRANCHISEMENT OF VOTERS AND TAX BREAKS FOR THE RICH ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE COMMON GOOD OF THE PEOPLE. NO WONDER RUSH LIMBAUGH COULDN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES (THE PREAMBLE); HE'S NEVER TAKEN THE TIME TO READ THEM, AFTER MAKING $50 MILLION A YEAR BASHING EVERY GOOD PUBLIC SERVANT THAT COMES ALONG TO HELP HIS FELLOW MAN/WOMAN. WHAT A LONELY EXISTENCE IT MUST BE TO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR AMERICAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KATHLEEN SEBELIUS IS NOW HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY. IT'S ABOUT TIME, AFTER HAVING BEEN BLOCKED (AS USUAL) BY THE REPUBLICANS WHO WANT TO TELL WOMEN HOW TO REPRODUCE AND WHO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE HEALTH OF OUR CITIZENRY!!!!!!!!!!!

Immediately following the vote, Sebelius was on a plane to Washington to take her oath of office. President Obama explained the urgency of her confirmation:

"We wanted to swear her in right away because we've got a significant public health challenge that requires her immediate attention...We need all hands on deck."

Today, Secretary Sebelius is already hard at work. She's calling on Congress to increase funding for pandemic flu preparedness, vaccine production, and aid to state and local governments. With more infections occurring daily, her confirmation is not a moment too soon.

In the past few days, our efforts drove dozens of media outlets to ask tough questions about the Senate Republicans' hold on Sebelius. Because of you, reporters from CNN to the New York Times put the Senate GOP in the spotlight as they played politics with the health of our nation.
