Was your Mother's Day special. As a mother of several children, I have been blessed with many special mother's days. However today was very special because of the work that went into this day by so many at our Homestead. Please let me explain. We live in a Intentional Community called Homestead Family Community. We live with several families in a really large home. I was in charge of putting together mother's day for all those who live away from us. We had the children make the planters with home grown flowers. We sent out three couples...Husband and wife teams. It gave them special time together. One went east, One went west and the last went north. While I thought it was all under control, little did I know that when those of us that did not go, went to bed. The men folk and the teenagers all got together. They set up homemade tables with table clothes and candles. Sheets made the area special for husband and wives alone the two of them. They used sheets to seperate the couples. After the meal was done, a slow dance and flowers brought in by the children. Then the sheets dropped. The play began. It was about raising children...our children and our bloops. Full of laughter presented from the kids point of view. I thought I was safe because I was one of the older ones. However, Dads helped to call my children to tell little secrets...but what to my surprise, it was my childrens voices with my grandchildren playing the parents...Tying a bottle of pop to a rope from the bedroom to the kitchen during the dish time..They treated themselves after chores. Here I thought they finally learned not to argue about chores. Boy was my son's face read. It was a total surprise because I did not expect any of my children to come up and spend the day with me...Not just one but all six of them with all twenty some grandchildren. I do not think I heard Nanna called as much as I did today. I love it all.
