All'ultimo vertice del G20 di Londra, la Russia è rimasta decisamente in secondo piano. Il presidente russo Dmitri Medvedev si è fatto notare soltanto in relazione alla sua intervista con Barack Obama rilasciata il 1° aprile, e, in minor misura, per la conferenza alla London School of Economics che ha tenuto il giorno dopo. La performance del presidente russo avrebbe potuto essere più accattivante, ma la Russia non aveva nulla di serio da proporre al G20 e, ad oggi, non ha versato un solo dollaro per il piano di rilancio del fondo monetario internazionale (FMI).
