Once again it is Memorial Day...a day designed for us to take some time from our busy lives to reflect on our many Heroes, who gave their lives for our Country and our freedoms in one conflict or another. It is a day to remember these brave men and women who felt a higher calling, a call to arms, a call to protect the American way of life. It is a totally selfless decision one makes when that person decides to dedicate their life to a cause. It is quite easy to sit back and talk about how you are willing to fight for what you believe in but it is something very different to actually take a stand and do what ever must be done to further your cause. I admire these noble Heroes who do NOT back down, who do not turn and retreat in the face of violence and death.I applaud their courage and fortitude and am so grateful for their perserverence and loyalty. Needless to say I am an Honored Gold Star Mother...honored because my beautiful Son is one of those who heard the call, answered, and made the Ultimate Sacrifice. I am grateful for the 26 awesome years this young man was in my life physicially and grateful for the many wonderful memories he left me that will remain within my heart as long as I live. So while I took this day as a day to remember our Fallen Heroes . I must admit that I remember My Hero, My Son....everyday....
