Matadors love to call their killing obsession a JOB. We had a chance to see why this obsession for killing is called a JOB, in the one episode of “Europe’s billionaires” on “Travel and Living Channel” when one of Europe’s riches people were presented-and among them Enrique Ponte – the Matador- from Spain.
The summery: Enrique Ponte (Matador / “ bull fighter ” ) 50. 000 – 100. 000 Euros per “show” in Arena (per killed Bull ) 4 billion Euros per year ( his yearly “salary” only from appearance in Arena ) Ponte besides his “love” for killing Bulls in Arena practice hunting (shooting bears, lions etc.); on his property, Ponte also posses wild Animals: Puma. Enrique Ponte has his own ranch where he breeds Bulls for bull-fights; he is breeding them and selling them to Arena (10. 000 Euros per Bull ) where he kills them for fun.
In Spain more than 1 billion Euros is spent every year on Arena bull fights shows (that’s from tickets sold ) !
It’s obvious why this barbarous “show” is ongoing and can’t be banned- people like Enrique can pay for their “job” to exists, they lobby by paying for things (as an example: Activists and organizations route for banning of bullfights and pressuring authorities/Mayor/ of City, and people like Enrique can pay for what that City needs, they can act like donors and that’s why authorities are not against... ) . Arenas are full in Spain, supposedly people love to see Bulls being killed while blood gushes from their body…- they call Bulls: Beasts..? Matadors love to say: “we are staring in the eyes of the beast” Herbivores do not eat humans.. Why is the Bull a beast?.. Bull is equipped by his body mass and his horns - to defend him self, not to attack a human for no reason.. But still Bull is called a beast!? The BEASTS in that Arena are those observers- those who paid for that bloody ticket to watch the drama of a dying Bull… the show where man presents him self as a barbarian observed by his -hungry for blood- auditorium. What a tragic exposal of mans deepest and darkest side is being presented as a jolly show and supported by the loud applause and cheers…

May 24, 2009 BLOODY BULLFIGHT BUSTED IN LOS ANGELES Humane Officer Finds Bulls Being Stabbed with Sharpened Nails
A Humane Officer with Animal Cruelty Investigations (ACI), interrupted a bull fight Saturday night at the Festa da Bola in Artesia, CA when he discovered the bull fighters were using long wooden sticks with several inch sharpened nails on the end to stab, torment and infuriate the bulls. The Humane Officer noticed the bulls were being stabbed when he saw blood and puncture wounds on the bull when the animal was being returned to the trailer from the ring. The bull had been repeatedly stabbed with up to 8 sticks. The Humane Officer went into center ring, held up his badge and put an end to the fight. Over 30 sticks with nails on the end were confiscated and the company operating the bull fight was informed that stabbing a bull is a violation of California's state animal cruelty laws.
Jane Garrison, spokesperson for Animal Cruelty Investigations, stated, " Animal Cruelty Investigations is an organization that enforces animal cruelty laws and stabbing a bull with sharpened nails is certainly a violation of the law. No animal should ever be made to suffer for so called entertainment. We hope the DA prosecutes this case to the fullest extent of the law and the City of Artesia makes this bull fight its last."

++++ http://equanimal.com/ PAST EVENT: Yesterday on Sunday, the 24th of May, Equanimal and CAS-INTERNATIONAL, with the help of the numerous animal organizations participated in the event, as well as hundreds of volunteers. Volunteers come from all the over of the state to stage an antibullfighting demonstration without precedent.
More than 400 persons showed up on side of the stage. They wanted to express the suffering of more than 12.000 bulls that are murdered annually. They laid down in the soil, nudes, with banderillas on their backs and blood silverware. The volunteers demonstrated to accentuate the reality and to show society to stop with this injustice.
The antibullfighting movement grows stronger day by day in force and unity. Such milestones as the referendum of Paternal or the ILP of Catalunya, demonstrate that whenever one’s message reaches the community, one claims a victory for the animals. These animal voices cannot keep on being ignored very much longer.
This act was possible thanks to everyone that showed up in “Square of the Selling” to demand once again the Abolition of the tauromachy. To Equanimal and CAS-INTERNATIONAL we are grateful to you for all your support. The horse Patanegra was gored by a desperate bull on Saturday. At the bullfighting ring people got "saddened", the afternoon lost its "magic" Why???????? What is the difference between a bull and a horse, both mammals, both with the same capacity to suffer pain and anguish (just like ours!) And why, if they love horses so much, do they put them in front of a bull? The truth is, the spilling of horses's guts is not part of the program so they do not like it but horses have always been victims of the bullfighting business. They cut their vocal chords so their cries of terror and pain will not be heard during the bullfight, did you know that?. ANY tourist that supports these dreadful events by attending them is as morally bankrupt as the mafia that organizes them.
And while bulls and horses keep suffering the torture of the Spanish bull rings the Málaga (Andalusia) politicians are spending 1.000.000 euros of their citizens money, during a world financial crisis in which Spain is one of the biggest losers no less, to update the bullfighting ring of that city...expecting to attract more tourists, no doubt. Not only unethical but amazing in its sheer stupidity. Please write to the Spanish embassy in your country http://www.geocities.com/iaestespain/LC/embOfSpainEng.htm to let them know what you think of their bullfighting "art ", the world is finally learning that "art" is a euphemism for "business" carried out by a mafia in which many politicians of the main parties have a vested interest one way or another.
PLEASE EU citizens, do vote on the June European elections and make sure the party you choose has animal protection at heart! Thank you.
