    Repeat after me .. "I will no longer give my hard-earned dollars ( euros, what not ) to companies that cruelly and needlessly torture animals and spray their faces with banal products." Below, you will find a fairly comprehensive list of companies that test their products on animals.

    The list below, which has been maintained over a course of over ten years by this site, is, in my opinion, the most stringent available on the world wide web. If any group has a valid reason to doubt the "animal-friendly" claims of any company, they are put on this list. The list has been compiled via stated policies, the findings/listings of various animal rights groups (as noted), the diligent work of many compassionate individuals out there (noted as permitted) and my own correspondence/findings.

Jadugoda The Black Magic

    This 10-minute documentary, based on the 2007 study, Black Magic of Uranium at Jadugoda, conducted by the Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD Patna chapter), explores the harsh realities of indigenous peoples living near the Jadugoda mine, mill and tailings dam in the mineral-rich Singhbum district of Jharkhand, India.

    Jadugoda is the primary source of Uranium in all of India, a discover that’s brought horrifying consequences to the Santhal, Munda and Ho tribes who live near the mining operation.

    “A large number of villagers suffer from cancer, skin diseases, physical deformities, blindness, brain damage, disruption of menstrual cycle or loss of fertility,” notes jadugoda.net, a website created to inform the international community about the realities of Jadugoda. Other villagers, evicted from their lands to make way for the mine, “work as miners and are exposed to heavy doses of radiation.”

Mt Ayliff Dog Cruelty

    We, the undersigned, call on the responsible authorities in Kokstad (South Africa) to take appropriate action and press charges against the person who wantonly, heartlessly and criminally inflicted such severe injuries to a pet dog by dragging the dog behind a vehicle before throwing the dog from the road into the bushes that the animal had to be euthanased.

    We call upon the SASPCA (South African Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the SAPS (South African Police Services) to do everything in their power to see that the criminal responsible is punished accordingly.

Stop the killing of birds of prey

    Birds of prey continue to be killed, despite the fact that it is illegal and has been for decades. Some birds of prey are still being shot or poisoned and their nests are targeted by egg-collectors. This illegal activity is having serious consequences for birds of prey like the hen harrier and the red kite and is a continuing threat to their recovery. We are calling the for killing of birds of prey to stop.

Hold Police Accountable for Needless Killing of an 11 Year

 What damage could a 12 pound, 11 year old Dachshund do that would justify putting a fatal bullet to his gut?  Regardless of the laws regarding loose dogs in Danville, VA., this was an unjustifiable act against such a small helpless family pet that was known and loved throughout the small neighborhood.

Tell Google to Stop Advertising Dog Fur!

Tell Google CEO Eric Schmidt that modern, successful businesses don't sell or advertise fur. As long as Google supports the fur industry by allowing fur companies to advertise through it, Google might as well be stuck in the Stone Age.

Despite knowing that the fur industry is violent and bloody, Google continues to allow advertisements for fur, including dog fur on Chinese Web sites.

There is a thriving dog- and cat-fur industry in Asia, and China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the U.S. Most of this fur is falsely labeled as "rabbit fur" or is simply not labeled at all. And since raw fur pelts often move through international auctions before they are sewn in other countries, the final products might also read, "Made in Italy" or "Made in France."

Ask New Zealand to Uphold the Ban on Live-Sheep Export!

    Animals in the live-export trade are crammed onto extremely crowded multilevel ships and spend weeks in reeking, squalid conditions with so few workers that even basic care is impossible to guarantee. Starvation, exposure to extreme temperatures, and painful and debilitating diseases are common, resulting in the deaths of thousands onboard every year. In Australia, a country that claims to be an industry leader, more than 2,500,000 sheep, cattle, and goats have died on live-export ships since 1981. Live exports from New Zealand were halted in 2004 when more than 5,000 sheep died on an Australian ship en route to Saudi Arabia, prompting a huge public outcry. Despite public opposition, the New Zealand government is considering reopening the live-export trade.

Tiger Temple Thailand Saviors Or Savages

    The Tiger Temple's success is based around claims that its tigers were rescued from poachers and live and move freely and peacefully amongst the temple's monks, who profess to be actively engaged in conservation and rescue work.
    Prompted by concerns raised by tourists and Tiger Temple volunteer workers, Care for the Wild International's (CWI) investigation uncovered disturbing evidence of serious conservation and animal welfare concerns, including:

 - illegal tiger trafficking
- systematic physical abuse of the tigers held at the Temple
- high risk interations between tigers and tourists and
- the unchallenged import and export of at least twelve tigers to and from the Tiger Temple across the border with Laos, without the necessary permits.

    We are asking you to ask the Dairy Farmers of Ontario, and all Farmers of the world, to end the cruel and inhumane practise of using Electric Shock Bars over dairy cows backs which SHOCK the dairy cow every time the cow naturally humps her back to urinate or poo. At the same time, we are asking you to release the cows tail restraints so that she may swish flies and/or itches.  We believe these practises amount to "cruel and unusual punishment" of the innocent cows who have never done anyone any harm.

We spend our whole life here, tied by the neck and tail, and if we hump our backs to pee or poo (as we naturally do) we get this really "NASTY" 2500 volt shock from the bars above us. Our owners do this just "because they can", and so they have less work to do cleaning b ehind us.

With deep shame and disgust I have read about the treatment of cows in the diary "business" with the use of torture, instead of respect and dignity!


I politely urge you to ask the Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) to immediately  disconnect and remove the "Shock Bars"and "Tail Restraints" from your "Tie Stall" dairy cow barns in Ontario Canada.  


I, and most of the other people I have told about this torture practice, find your practice of shocking dairy cows to keep them from naturally humping their back to Urinate and Poo totally unacceptable.  In our opinion the practice of restraining the dairy cows tail so that she cannot naturally "swish" an itch or flies amounts to "cruel and unusual punishment", Quite like tying a humans hands and putting them in a fly infested environment.


I understand that the "sole reason" for these "Barbaric" practices is the convenience of the Farmer and these practices do not contribute in any positive way to the welfare of the cows or the milk quality. This type of "torture" would NOT even be allowed in Guantanamo, you must end it NOW! Your ending these practices would require very little time an NO capital cost.  Until you do end these practices, we the consumers of your milk products PROMISE  to do everything we can to reduce our milk consumption.


Thank you for your time and I urge you to end these barbaric practices for now and for ever, and to embrace respect and compassion into your mind heart and attitude towards ALL living creatures.
