We here in Ohio are being told that the libraries aren't important enough to be saved from being reduced to three days a week.
Where is Andrew Carnegie now that his legacy is being threatened?
The library is a public service that I use nearly every day of the week. It is a vital source for information, books, dvds, audios, newspapers (the real thing), kindness and generosity of help and guidence, important to me nearly every day.
It sure seems to me that we could reduce the wages of all the politicans and municiple workers to make up a shortage of revenue...not cut vital resources and services of information.
Sometimes there are homeless people who utilize the libraries to locate services and to spend the days for warmth in the winter and coolness in the heat of summer.
Quit wasting money, tearing down old school buildings, they add culture to a community. To build new ones, school buildings, to stimulate the economy is a terrible waste of local, state and federal funds.
Please reconsider your actions of cutting the libraries...stop it!

Hi Spencer-I worked in a county library system for a few years. Even in a prosperous time with an educated populous the library never got enough funds. This country does not respect learning the way other countries do. Only 10 percent of the people read 90 percent of the books. Frightening yes. Illiterates elect stupid people like Obama. A Harvard graduate who never practiced law and can't find his ass with two hands. I think as a society we are hitting rock bottom intellectually.

Hi Stephanie, I volunteered for Barack Obama to be our next president and I'm very impressed with what he's done with so little help from the previous administration. I became impressed with him when he gave his 2004 speech and have supported him whenever I've had the time and opportunity. He is a brilliant man and I'm going to write to him about the library situation because he believes in humanity and education. Sorry you think that about him. Maybe you could consider not eating any animals? They are all precious, domesticated and wild, dogs, wolves, cows, elephants, pigs, chickens, etc.
Thank you Bill and
