I went for a walk late last night, down by the creek. I stopped in a large patch of clover and looked around for a bit. I found thirteen four-leafed clovers and wondered if that was lucky or not.
Then I got a lot of beer and tried to get so drunk that I didn't care. It didn't work. Apparently I can drink a lot of beer. It only made me feel stupid.
I woke up this morning tired and bleary-eyed. I wonder if I've ruined everything, if Dana and I can ever be truly comfortable with each other.
In the afternoon I went out and mowed the lawn. The grass was full of cottonwood seed, and it blew up into my eyes.
Dana came up to see me in the evening. We went out for supper, then went for a walk. Later on we went to watch the fireworks at the race track. They were very good, though one of them went off course and started a fire in the bush....
