Medical Alert  on Behalf of the Leonard Peltier Defense Offense
Committee:

"I received a disturbing call from Leonard today.  As we know,
Leonard has had a scare with prostate cancer.  He is now having
blood in his urine and he desperately needs to have an oncologist
examine him. A general practitioner operating in the prison system
is not sufficient; he needs to be seen by a specialist.

Your support with letters and phone calls to the proper officials is
greatly needed at this time.  The urgency is due to his previous
scare of cancer. Only a specialist can determine the state of
his health.  According to his medical he is supposed to receive
an exam every three months, but according to Leonard he has only
been seen once a year.  How can this be? As everyone knows one
examination can give you warning, anyone who has had a prognosis
or scare with prostate cancer, you need to see an oncologist and
be examined regularly.

He has never received proper medical attentions for his medical
problems, unless this problem is addressed by his supporters he
will not get this matter taken care of.  As we found when he did not
have his diabetic supplies last year, until the outcry was so great.
Then they could not deny him.

Please ask the warden at Lewisburg Prison to give Leonard Peltier
the proper medical attention he has the right to.

thankyou for the story Kat~my husband has been diagnosed with prostate cancer too~2 years ago~and has blood coming from his rectum~it has been a great concern~it was from the radiation.I understand and will send out the e-mails immediately. Blessings, Mary

Emails will be sent quickly, this is something you do not mess around with. This is life threating to him. His health is not that good as it is and this is not good. Thanks Kat for the up dat. I also have the phone number and I can call for I have some free minutes durning the month will call the prison too for him.

Thanks for your messages Kat,now I am really pissed of at this so called system.
I didn't know about prostate cancer that he suffers from.
First the diabetic kit that he didn't have and now this
I am going to write today,he needs to go to the hospital.
This is so wrong and when I write I paste amnesty international in cc and the media at the same space as the warden also Obama is going to hear from me

I phoned the prison and could not reach any person in regards to Leonards medical needs!I also tried the e mails and they are not going thru!What is up with this?Leonard is a free spirit,artist,red man,set him free,Our native brother has suffered beyond what any man should!

As I read this again I have decided to fax the prison instead of phoning them, This way I know they will get it. I will include that all tribes and color and very much aware of his problems and that we want the best for him and that he is our friend and family to us all.

I have signed the petition on ipetitions.com - 'Executive Clemency for Leonard Peltier' - Sent to President Barack Obama. I clicked on all the email links, but a message came up saying 'Sory unable to direct you to this page'. I have wrote to the prison before though when Leonard had his suspected heart attack. I think it is such a terrible unforgiveable injustice and this beautiful, peaceful, innocent man has the strength of spirit of a million men. The Great Spirit is protecting and guiding him. My prayers are with him.
