SIXTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE WRONGFUL DEATH OF LARRY NEAL - AND STILL NO RECORDS, STILL NO ANSWERS - STILL THE COVER-UP. THAT IS THE WAY IT HAPPENS WITH "IMMATERIAL" PEOPLE IN THE U.S.A.
Petition to treat Larry Neal’s death with the investigative effort Michael Vick’s dogs received:
PETITION FOR DOG JUSTICE FOR LARRY NEAL
YES, WE ARE “MATERIAL,” JUDGE! MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE AS “MATERIAL” AS ANYONE, EVEN AFRICAN AMERICANS – OR IF NOT, THEN PUT THAT EXCEPTION IN THE CONSTITUTION AND STOP TAXING US
A new online friend wrote and asked about churches or civil rights organizations to help my family discover the truth about my brother’s secret Guantanamo-style arrest and death in Memphis Shelby County Jail and ther persecution his family faces – stalking online and in-person. I answered here this way:
You want to know the truth about help for me? First, I am convinced that someone does help. These people are rich and powerful. I think someone else who is on their level spoke for me, or perhaps I would not be here. Or maybe God stayed their hand. Secondly, it is really up to Larry’s family when to end this. I just wanted it to end in court. Any other way will require publicity, and I never wanted to publish more than what is needed for security while we got justice in court. But I recognize now that people are not fair in court unless the world is already watching. So there it is.
Do you ever wonder why black people march and sometimes do more behind wrongful deaths? Many people already knew what I did not – the system will not be fair to black people unless the world is watching. Anything at all that can be done under cover will be done. The Government lacks decency and morals. I did not know that until recently. It is very painful knowledge. I BELIEVED.
Even now when something happens, I think of the police and FBI and all of them. But they don’t respond like they should – like you would imagine after years and years of saying the Pledge of Allegiance and getting teary-eyed watching 4th of July fireworks. Some more aware African Americans may laugh at me when they read this, I know. Here I was a black woman feeling “included” to some degree. I knew there were problems, of course, but I had no idea of the scope. Just to show you the full picture of how clueless I was, I even watched movies like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and Yankee Doodle Dandy with James Cagney. I guess it is best that enlightened African Americans know how much work there is to be done to educate some people. If you have never been treated like my family and I have been over the last few years, you can live a long time and not know that you don’t count in America. What’s worse – we are treated like an enemy for asking, “What Happened to Larry Neal?”
No one talked much about racism at our house – at least, not in terms that we children would feel resentment toward anyone. Of course, I was aware of it – institutional racism. But it was not up close and personal. The white people I knew seemed nice. They seemed like everybody else – just a different skin color with different hair and more money. I perceived there was a system of racism, but did not think in terms of it being Ms. MaryEllen, who my mom worked for, or Mr. Taylor, who ran the grocery where we shopped. Understand the difference? They were people who smiled at you and gave you things for Christmas and knew all your relatives by name like you knew theirs – I was raised in a small town. Perhaps I was very young for my age – naive.
All my life, I perceived it was the system that needed to change, and that the white people I knew seemed to me to be decent, fair people who were stuck in the same system that I was – something left over from slavery that would certainly change. I watched the changes evolving during the 60’s and 70’s. By the time Larry died in 2003, I thought Jim Crow was in ICU. But he is not! Jim Crow is in the weight room pumping IRON!
So you see, part of the reason this has not ended is because I wanted a different ending than where we are now headed. I believed God wanted me to advocate for the mentally ill only WHILE we worked things out in court about Larry, where I certainly did not expect to run into Jim – thinking he was nearly dead. Well guess what? God must want more from me, based on how things went in court.
Guess what the first judge did? We sued The Cochran Firm for its fraud, and Judge Wendy Shoob said “What Cochran Firm? There is no Cochran Firm in Georgia!” and she dismissed our lawsuit with The Cochran Firm’s office just spitting distance from her chambers. Anytime there is no branch of a defendant’s company in the state with you, you can sue in federal court under the diversity rule. So since Shoob determined that The Cochran Firm was nonexistent in Georgia, we filed suit in USDC.
Black people generally get more justice from the feds than their state governments, so it was OK that Shoob did that so we could go to federal court. Being in federal court should have also made it easier to subpoena records from across state lines (Larry was killed in Tennessee). But Judge Batten would not make Shelby Co. Jail honor the subpoena to release records; he would not make Cox Enterprises release The Cochran Firm’s Atlanta advertising records; and he said everything The Cochran Firm did to use its position as our contracted attorneys to protect Shelby Co. Jail was “immaterial.”
I take it that that means Larry was immaterial, my mom who worked her whole life in America like a slave is immaterial, my brothers and sisters and I who pay a sh*tload of taxes are immaterial; my brother who risked his life in Viet Nam is immaterial, my uncle who fought in WWII is immaterial, my other uncles on my mom’s side who helped make all those cars are immaterial, my nephews who are in Iraq and stationed other places right now are immaterial – WE ARE ALL IMMATERIAL, AND WE GET NO JUSTICE IN THE USA.
Not only are we “immaterial,” but dogs are more highly valued! Hurt a dog and the animal control people will deal with you. Look at what happened to Michael Vick. They investigated his dog abuse with probably hundreds of investigators and police officers. They prosecuted him, bankrupted him, and imprisoned him. The Atlanta Falcons recently fired Vick. All of that was done because he hurt pit bulls. LARRY WAS HUMAN! – like the guy said on the video about Brittany Spears.
But authorities have YET to release his arrest report, tell us how they killed him in 2003, and they refuse to even investigate his death – afraid they would have to prosecute people from the protected class, a/k/a the Higher-ups. The fact that authorities withhold investigation and records is illegal as hell, but laws only protect people who are “material,” and we are not. Not at all. In fact, we are worse that “immaterial,” like Judge Batten said. Because you simply ignore what does not matter in life – immaterial things. But we are NOT ignored. We are stalked online and in person, spied on, and plotted against – all because we ask, “WHAT HAPPENED TO LARRY NEAL?” and try to help other sick people like him.
I tell you, it is a sinking feeling to know that you are “immaterial” when you thought you were a citizen like other people. It is a painful lesson that I am still fighting. I say, “Look at me! I am MATERIAL. Larry was material. Our mother is material. My siblings are material. Other people like Larry who are schizophrenic, bipolar, depressed, Autistic, veterans suffering from PTSD, and people who have other mental illnesses are also material! Their moms and dads, sisters and brothers are material, too! We are citizens! We count!
But the Pharaohs say, “No, you don’t. We will take your sick relatives and throw them in dungeons. We will Taser them. We will lock them up and throw away the keys. We will gas them. We will shoot them. We will beat them. We will put them in restraint chairs and choak the life out of them. They don’t count, and you don’t count. And if you persist in trying to make them count, we will silence you online with cyberstalkers. We will chase you and kill you!”
That is my reality. I keep thinking this cannot be real, but it is. We did not even appeal Judge Batten saying we are immaterial, because the Georgia Superior Court won’t let Troy Davis have a new trial, so I don’t think fairness and justice mean very much to them, either. It would likely be a lost cause. I don’t know how all these people got into positions of rendering justice, because they don’t seem to have much interest in it except when it can be used to punish the non-Pharaohs. Then justice works by such a fine schedule that they don’t even think it is important to interrupt the process for a post-conviction DNA test before executing a condemned person.
The justice process must not be bothered with making sure someone is guilty before execution or spending decades in jail for crimes they did not do, you see. (Alaska D.A. Office vs. Willie Osbourne, U.S. Supreme Ct., 2009) But the justice process — every open records law and law against murder and laws regarding due process — is expendable when it comes to the case of the secret arrest and wrongful death of Larry Neal. The justice process can be set aside in that matter completely. But no one is ALLOWED to complain about that, or the consequences are stalking and even worse, if one did not stay home. See what I mean? Justice is in trouble.
Do you want to know the truth? Larry has been dead for nearly six years now - six years today, August 1. At this point, I am more concerned the state of the justice system in America with its double standard based on who is higer-up and who is not, who is black and who is white, who has a connected attorney and who is pro se or represented by a public defender, and the 1.25 million mentally ill people in prison today than I am about Larry's wrongful death.
And no thank you to your H1N1 vaccine.
If any guards or police officers or people who were incarcerated with Larry Neal in Memphis Shelby County Jail from mid-July 2003 until August 1, 2003, would care to share information with his 86-year-old mother and other family members about his last days and how he died, please use the email address below to contact us. We have no reward to offer at this time as we would have if we had a fair justice system, but you will be rewarded by Our Father.

Assisted Outpatient Treatment Programs vs. Jail
Hello, AIMI Members. Today marks the sixth anniversary of Larry's secret Guanatamo-style death in Shelby County Jail in Memphig, TN. I feel good about the things we have accomplished together since Aug. 2008 when we had our open house and many of you joined. Having you to work with me to give Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill is a blessing that makes all the difference. Thank you for your efforts to help imprisoned sick people have more wholesome lives in an environment meant for healing, not punishment. I solute you, AIMI members!
YOU ARE VERY "MATERIAL" TO ME!
