The Connecticut State and Metropolitan District Commission will give permits to more than 100 hunters to kill deer in the land surrounding the Nepaug Reservoir  in November and December 2009.They may kill as many as four deer each.Permits are handed out through a lottery system. the reason is to reduce damage to trees and shrubs when they search for food. More information given at the Department of Environmental Protection's website at  http://www.ct.gov.dep/
