TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2009    Dear Phyllis,

Who would have thought ... the future of the pro-life movement could actually hinge on national health care ''reform'' legislation?

Who would have imagined ... abortion as a ''health benefit'' covered by insurance ... like some ''stealth Freedom of Choice Act''?

But this is exactly what's at stake today.  Your strong stand for life and your concern for the unborn citizens of our nation are under fire as never before.

With your immediate support, we will continue fighting aggressively to stop the abortion mandate in health care reform legislation currently before Congress.

If health care reform passes in its current state, you will be affected - because all companies, churches, and even faith-based and pro-life organizations WILL BE REQUIRED to have abortion coverage in their health plans!  It's simply unthinkable.

From our strategic location in Washington, D.C., the ACLJ's legal and Government Affairs teams have been working on this issue for weeks - pushing hard to convince lawmakers to remove abortion as a mandatory health benefit provided in government and private insurance plans.

We are seeing REAL progress, but there is much yet to be done.

Your online gift will help the ACLJ as we battle to save the lives of countless millions of unborn babies.  This is about LIFE, not politics.

Thank you for understanding the urgency and for acting on your commitment to LIFE.
