Sustainable living course in LA

Posted by Siel in environment, losangeles (July 5, 2006 at 3:40 pm)

For LA people who wanna use this summer as an intensive time to green their homes, SustainableLA’s upcoming “Interdisciplinary Course on Sustainability” sounds like a great motivator.

The course takes place on 5 weekend days between July 15 - August 5, 2006, and costs $240, which is the main reason I won’t be taking the course. Also, I’ll be in Boston July 15 and will miss the first session.

Still, it sounds like a worthwhile course, especially for people who own homes. Featured workshops include green architecture and landscaping — both things that I, an apartment girl, am unlikely to have to worry about any time soon, but may be really useful for people who’re redesigning or rebuilding their houses.

The guest green speakers sound great too — and includes Barent, Green Drinks organizer.

More info, including a PDF of the schedule with speaker bios, is on the website
