1. In the first centuries of Christianity the hungry were fed at a personal sacrifice, the naked were clothed at a personal sacrifice, the homeless were sheltered at personal sacrifice. 2. And because the poor were fed, clothed and sheltered at a personal sacrifice, the pagans used to say about the Christians "See how they love each other." 3. In our own day the poor are no longer fed, clothed, sheltered at a personal sacrifice, but at the expense of the taxpayers. 4. And because the poor are no longer fed, clothed and sheltered the pagans say about the Christians "See how they pass the buck."

The rich should be the ones paying most tax; personal sacrifice is great, but hard to budget on! I've noticed when collecting for charity, how often the least affluent respond well, & the richer ones are full of suspicion.....

Chris,

Taxation OH NO. In the USA for those that punch the clock or get a check OH NO. Here comes the TAX MAN---but it does not stop there---city---county----state----federal---the gas tax, and on and on and on.

Then our biggest hidden tax of all is the Federal Reserve that feeds the Queen Bee in Merry Ole England. ALL GOT TO SAVE THE QUEEN.

All in the many pay far more than equity demands. For they get a penny and the few in the elite get $100 of millions.

Today Mark called and was talking about studying systematic theology being like wading through prodige. Without thinking I made a Davidism and said systematic pordige can be interesting though. :D
