World Clean Air Forest Initiative (WCAFI) - the UK-based non-profit that aims to ‘clean’ the air - today announces that for the first time, individuals will be able to purchase its Clean Air Tree Kits from http://shop.wcafi.org.

Inside WCAFI’s very first product is everything you need to grow and plant your own tree, which will help to produce a whopping one tonne of Clean Air across the course of the tree’s life. What’s more, when you buy and plant one, WCAFI matches this by planting another tree with its Tree Planting Partners around the world.

WCAFI works to counter the climate changes, deforestation, pollution and anything else that has a negative effect on the air that we all breathe. Keeping the air clean is not about necessarily changing everything about our daily lives or daily consumption, but instead using things we want to do all the time to produce good side effects rather than bad ones.

The Clean Air Tree Kit’s are made in Canada and have been developed with co-founding partner Jiffy Product. The white globe is made from potato waste and is 100% biodegradable. In fact, every element is either biodegradable or compostable – from the vegetable and water based inks in the instruction booklet, to the PLA (a biodegradable polymer derived from lactic acid) used in the shrink-wrap.

It contains a growing pellet (which allows the roots to breathe), a growing pot (which will drain any excess water), 6 – 10 tree seeds and instructions for growing. Local seeds are sourced, so you can be assured that when you plant your tree; it’s got the best chance of growing.

Plant your tree in your own garden, or in a locally designated planting area, then use the special pin code from your kit to register on the WCAFI website. Soon, this will plot each tree on the Clean Air Tree Map, to show where members of the WCAFI community live and plant their kits.

If you can’t plant a tree, you can also support WCAFI by joining the community or making a donation at http://www.wcafi.org
