Hi Robert,
Firstly i want to tell you what we have planned this year 2009: -To establish a Small Newspaper and a website in order to reach a great number of people by teaching them the importance of protecting environment and wildlife
-To fight against genocide ideology and to continue our reconciliation processes...
--To enlarge our group(students from elementary school, Primary school and high school ,illiterate people in all provinces of our country).
-We will continue to contribute for helping HIV/AIDS, Genocide orphans and Children in roads here in what we will have as aid. We will try to teach them some basic important courses like English, technical studies,... -To find other source of income by doing some businesses -As the great wish is to go in our neighbor country Burundi especially in northern province Kirundo where desertification is a great problem to the population and we wish to go there to teach them how to protect against desertification by planting valuable and various trees in the area and to teach the illiterate people the importance of protecting environment. To explain to Burundian students how to protect animals and environment.
What we have achieved:
- two members went to Kirundo (Burundi) to help teaching how to protect
environment because there were a problem of the desertification .
-To teach the people around our campus, the students of primary schools and secondary schools the importance of wildlife and how to protect it .
-We increase the number of members especially the girls in order to promote gender.
-We are teaching orphan children some courses about to fight against genocide, good behavior, speaking English ………….
As you know many of us are the students here, we use our effort for accomplishing what we planned even though we have studies waiting for us.
Some challenges we face :- materials as computer , digital camera for visiting our e-mails or editing some works or publishing a small newspaper for informing other people what we are doing.
-Because we are students we miss some materials to use in forests because are expensive and as you know our budget is our few scholarship we get here and we have to cut a smallamount for all we planned.
- Problem of transport in order to achieve many areas far away from our Campus.
-We miss people who have much knowledge about some technics about protecting environment.
We are now about 85 members including them the illiterate people around campus and students from high schools.
