I read I piece in MSNBC,Also on TV, where the Gov. was going to thank the Merchant Marines that fought in World War ll, that was over six months ago, My Father Served 4 years in the Air force, then signed for a Tour with the Merchant Marines. During his time in the MM's he went out on Tankers(Oil) across the Atlantic, Pacific, Though the Panama Canal, Spent time in The Philippines,Morocco, basically went around the world a few times making sure troops had fuel, not in the greatest weather conditions either.
I have started a Petition for the remainder of the Merchant Marine's still with us today, tomorrow to receive the money that was promised to them, whether they live here in the U.S. Philippines.
This war ended some 60 years ago, now they're getting the recognition they should have gotten back then, as the Viet Nam guys are still waiting for their day, I hope they're day comes faster.
Would you please sign my petition to help this process to move along, my father just celebrated his 83rd Birthday's I hope he will see many more. Others out there may not be as lucky to have survived this long.
