I opened my e-mails this morning and was overwhelmed by the outpouring and beautiful words of love and support from so many people. I could not understand, why that should be so, until I found the first one containing your appeal to the care2 community on my behalf. I cried for a while. I never expected anyone to care, except people like you and the rest of our little troop (group)
You are an "Angel in disguise" and I love you dearly, how else would you find the energy to care for others when you have so many health problems of your own.
I don't know how to go about thanking you all - unless I write to everyone on an individual basis - which I really can't do right now. I don't want all these lovely people to think I'm some ungrateful jerk.
I am now confined to a wheelchair since I suddenly lost the use of my legs last Tuesday. David pushed me around on my desk-chair (you know - going to the bathroom and things) until Thursday when he had to take me for my blood test and wafarin. On the Doctor's advice, he bought me my own "set of wheels" where I now spend most of my time, learning to cope and navigate around the house to do the necessary. The Cats are getting used to mommy's weird mode of transport and "meals on wheels". They are still apprehensive (but nosey) and I have to be careful not to run over tails and little paws. Maybe I should get a horn or bell......I have already learned to get OUT of the chair and flop on the bed - but have not yet mastered the getting back into it. This is a good way of "working on my bi-ceps" and I might end up with "body-builder's muscles..... Actually, this latest blow (being confined to a wheel-chair) wasn't as bad as it could have been if I did not have at least some of my faith in God left - and reading your appeal and all those responses, has given me new hope..... I must admit, I had really under-estimated the compassion of care2 members. It goes to show, that defense of animals those not exclude compassion for the "human animal"
Bless you all for what you have done to lift me up. I shall never forget that....
Thank you again my beloved friend and if you can find a way to let everyone else either read this or pass on my thanks to one and all.....
Marena Xoxoxo....
