There will be a cap on what they spend, and no cap on what their benefits are."

Hello to all of my fellow Americans. Now we have heard a great deal about The Speakers lovely new 1990 page bill, but do you know much about it? I've been reading it little by little to get the overall gist of what it's really about. I may be a conservative, but I don't blindly make up my mind on anything. I make sure I get the facts first. And so I begin my journey, by reading the bill itself.

Now Thomas Jefferson had a good idea when he sat down to pen the beautiful piece we know as The Declaration of Independence. The reference I will use from this document is this one line:

"For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent."

Now something from Pelosi's bill:

TAXES ON INDIVIDUALS NOT OBTAINING ACCEPTABLE COVERAGE.—the amounts received in the Treasury under section 59B of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (relating to requirement of health insurance coverage for individuals).

But wait....

‘‘(A) TAX IMPOSED.—In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed

A tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of—

 

‘‘(1 ) the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over

 

‘‘(2 ) the amount of gross income specified in section 6012 (a) (1) with respect to the taxpayer.

 

Now what in the devil could section D say...?

 

‘‘(d) ACCEPTABLE COVERAGE REQUIREMENT.—

 ‘‘(1) IN GENERAL.—The requirements of this subsection are met with respect to any individual for any period if such individual (and each qualifying child of such individual) is covered by acceptable coverage at all times during such period.

‘‘(2) ACCEPTABLE COVERAGE.—for purposes of this section, the term ‘acceptable coverage’ means any of the following:

‘‘(A ) QUALIFIED HEALTH BENEFITS PLAN COVERAGE.—Coverage under a qualified health benefits plan (as defined in section 100(c) of the).

 ‘‘(B ) GRANDFATHERED HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE; COVERAGE UNDER GRANDFATHERED EMPLOYMENT-BASED HEALTH PLAN.—Coverage under a grandfathered health insurance coverage (as defined in subsection (a) of section 202 of the) or under a current employment-based health plan (within the meaning of subsection (b) of such section).

 ‘‘(C ) MEDICARE.—Coverage under part A of title XVIII of the Social Security Act.

 ‘‘(D) MEDICAID.—Coverage for medical assistance under title XIX of the Social Security Act.

‘‘(E) MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCESAND DEPENDENTS (INCLUDING TRICARE).—

 Coverage under chapter 55 of title 10, United States Code, including similar coverage furnished under section 1781 of title 38 of such Code.

 ‘‘(F) VA.—Coverage under the veteran’s health care program under chapter 17 of title 38, United States Code.

 

Well I would like to know just how many of you happen to be consenting to this new bill. Is everyone (or a mass majority) consenting to be taxed if you don’t have insurance of their choosing? You must follow these guidelines or you will be taxed 2.5% of your income. Is this viewed as bettering our country? Or could this be the start of a slippery slope, where they start taxing us for not complying with more new rules they choose to put into effect?  I’d like to turn a little attention now to the Constitution. The very document our entire system is based on.

 

The following fall under our rights to refuse medication:

 

·         The 8th amendment’s protection against cruel and unusual punishment.

 

·         the 1st  amendment’s protection of free speech (freedom of thought / ideas)

 

·         the 1st amendment’s protection of freedom of religion

 

·         the more broadly interpreted right to privacy

 

·         The 14th amendment’s protection of liberty (the right to be free from unjustified intrusions on personal security).

I count five protections under the constitution. Now you’re probably wondering why I bring up the right to refuse medication when we’re talking about insurance, well if I want to refuse medical treatment, why would I need to pay for unused insurance? It really goes hand in hand. People of particular faiths use medicine men/healers. Now I know of no insurance that pays for a non-conventionally medically trained individual to perform on their client. Maybe it exists, but on a very small and probably very expensive scale. So what do these people who will never go to a doctor (M.D.), a hospital, or clinic do? They will be taxed because they choose not to follow the system.

 

Where does this end? Better yet, where did it begin? I’m very concerned as a mother for what we are shaping our country to be for the next generation. Will my son be able to exercise his constitutionally protected rights? Or will he learn about them as if they were a mere stepping stone to a yet again revolutionized America? Think about it and speak up. Bring the ball to your court and play it out. After all we voted everyone into an office that is not of royalty, it’s a public office. We have the power. We have voices.

Why is this administration even attempting to pass something that may not be constitutional. Even I as a Canadian find your constitution very easy to understand and very clear. I think this is going to lead to HUGE lawsuits on the part of the individual states as I do not believe your federal government has the right to force this on them .....
