The Ancient Redwoods that line Highway 101 through Richardson Grove State Park are threatened by an unwarranted realignment project. Multiple conservation groups, countless local citizens and local small businesses are joined to oppose this unnecessary and expensive project. Richardson Grove is considered the entrance through the Redwood Curtain. CalTrans proposes to cut the roots of 30 old growth trees and remove 87 other trees that surround the old growth trees, and to erect a 300 foot long retaining wall. These acts will have a huge impact on the unique ambiance of the grove and endangered wildlife. We urge you to take action now to protect these Millennial Ancient Redwoods.
