Wildlife Conservation Society:Save Global Priority Species in their Natural Habitats
Nov 8, 2009
Recent WCS studies discovering new populations of endangered species where we once thought there were few, gives us hope that there is still time to save global priority species in their natural habitat.
The United States government provides vital funding for programs to protect not only great apes, dolphins, rhinos, tigers, elephants, and sea turtles, but also important land and seascapes like the Congo Basin, Southern Sudan's national parks, and the Coral Triangle. These programs also address pressing needs related to economic development, good governance, climate change, global health, and national security.
Please urge Congress to increase conservation funding directed overseas to save global priority species in their natural habitats.
