Our church participated in Dominic Galati, Jr's Compelled 2 Go "Power 2 Tell" School of Personal Impact this weekend. It is an evangelistic training course that was created to equip Christians to get out of their pews and into their neighborhoods, sharing their faith as they go. Bro. Galati is engaging, entertaining and definitely has a heart for the lost. I enjoyed the weekend very much.
What I Liked The Most:
The use of a survey to dialogue with the unsaved.
The use of tracts.
Working in teams of two.
Easy and straight-forward.
Very practical.
Opens the door to disciple new believers.
Gets the "church" out of the church.
Reaching out to the lost!
What I Wasn't Crazy About:
The use of the Sinner's Prayer.
The focus on "decisions" for Christ.
Could have spent a bit more time on the training.
Why does the use of the Sinner's Prayer bother me? Well, I think it opens up the door to false conversions. Many people will go through that prayer just to get rid of you and even more will think that they are saved just because they said that prayer. And that leaves you wondering how many of those "decisions" for Christ are actually real.
All in all, it does give you some good sound tools to take to the streets and evangelize your city or town for the lost. I really do like the survey used, so there is no need to throw out the baby with the bath water. But, I do strongly recommend one take into consideration the reality of false conversion. You may want to alter the presentation to account for that.
This is truly powerful.
Make sure you take time
to watch ...How would you
explain the Gospel to a
person who was literally
on their deathbed? What
would you say?
I was looking through my
posts today on here and
Facebook and I have come
to realize that I really
like exclamation
points.And, that might be
a bit of an
understatement. :P
I wish all my friends and
all the people of the
world a happy
Thanksgiving.
Let's all just be nice
and love one another.
hasta luego amigos and
amigas
