I'd like to thank the many people who have written to express their revulsion at the barbaric savagery inflicted on a bull in Turkey (and they call it " a sacrifice" --- I'd like to perform a different kind of sacrifice myself, actually).

The messages have been addressed to me and to nomessage-Eureka. I know she would be proud to receive your messages and glad that this horrible act has been able to galvanize so many of us.

The trouble is that I don't have a way to get in touch with Eureka, at least to tell her about the many messages that people who care have been sending.

I'm sure that Eureka would share my desire to be able to do something about that horrific "sacrifice" by sadistic, mean and dumb basxxxxs. I wonder if people have any ideas about such action. I have no experience with that type of activity, but I'd be happy to join a group that does.

I'm thinking about a boycott of Turkish products, but I don't know what Turkey exports in addition to dried figs, Turkish delight, bad marmalades, mediocre stuffed peppers, some indifferent eggplant concoctions and imitation pasta. I'm sure they produce olive oil, but I don't know whether and how much reaches this hemisphere. To tell the truth, I've seen Turkish products only in a local Middle Eastern store. So i would think that boycotting such imports would not have a significant economic impact, even if we could get a campaign or a "Take Action" effort. A boycott of travel to and in Turkey would seem very reasonable, but again I don't know if such travel has an important economic impact.

Please keep me posted with your ideas. Best wishes to all, AC

Antonio - horrific as that obscene "sacrifice" is - it's just one of many unspeakable atrocities inflicted on bulls! I think these so-called "men" must be sadly lacking in certain male attributes!
If you are genuine in your desire for action against these hideous bull tortures - THIS is the group for you!

We also don't seem to have many Turkish products here in Australia - the only one I can think of off the top of my head is dried apricots - and they are so horrible - and the Aussie ones so good - I can't imagine why anyone would buy them. Apart from the price - but with them you get what you pay for - cheap and nasty!

Yes, I have been with this group for more than a year now, I think, but I still feel powerless, because the torture doesn't stop. Keep at it, I guess. best, AC

Hmm - seems to be a bit of confusion here - the group has been going for less than 3 months - and I don't see you there as a member!

And keeping at it is exactly what we're about!

Check us out!

Antonio, I've emailed you at the address you left for me. I don't want to post it here - too many spammers on the internet, but have received no reply.

i live in Turkey and i think this is not only related to Turkey, because sacrifice of animal is an islamic duty and this can be seen in any islamic country. i am not a muslim and think this is so cruel too. but i think there is no possible way to change this because it's an oblication to them and you know in any religion there are some people have strong and implicit faith. it is really hard to find a middle course between believers and the animal rights supporters. by the way there are some rules about sacrifice, the sacrificial must not to suffer. and they dont sacrifice bulls, usually the sacrificial is a cow or sheep. i deeply believe in animal rights but this is my opinion on this subject.

I agree! The animals deserve better treatment as the animals are the real owners of this planet.
