Recently, the Japanese Government sanctioned Shonan Maru No. 2, brutally and intentionally attacked the lives of the Sea Shepherd crew aboard the Ady Gil, endangering all occupants and illegally ignoring distress calls immediately after. These human lives were treated with the same contempt and lack of respect afforded the whales in the Southern Ocean by the Japanese officials.
