Make the Pipeline Green Campaign

Ecology North is working on a campaign we call "Make the Pipeline Green." We are trying to raise awareness about the Mackenzie Gas Project and encourage the proponents and regulators to ensure it is only approved if it does not result in environmental damage to the Mackenzie Valley or a net increase in Canada's greenhouse gas emissions. Here are links to documents and materials related to the campaign.

* Ecology North's official position on the Mackenzie Gas Project.
* Initial Press Release - June 8, 2006.
* Mackenzie Gas Project Greenhouse Gas Analysis – An Update - from the Pembina Institute
* Photos from our pipeline painting event on July 26th, 2006.
* Don't forget to read and sign on to the Mackenzie Wild Declaration.
* Link to all postings about the Mackenzie Gas Project on the EN website.

Get your "Make the Pipeline Green" posters at the website:
http://www.ecologynorth.ca/

Ecology North has created 2 posters explaining how the Mackenzie Gas project could be an exampe of how to carry out development without hurting the earth. Together with the Pembina Institute, we have calculated how many clean, green projects could be done to make up for the climate change effects of the pipeline. The report will be posted soon.
