Going Green Helps Your Child Think - Blog #2 out of 5
NONTOXIC CLEANING
One of the easiest ways to reduce a child’s neurotoxic exposure at home is to switch exclusively to green cleaning products. A desk that has been polished with a synthetic petroleum-based furniture polish will emit neurotoxic fumes that could interfere with a child’s learning. Their reaction may manifest as hyperactivity, inability to concentrate, a dazed feeling, depression, or any range of so-called psychiatric symptoms.

Care2’s Healthy Living Channel has  dozens of nontoxic cleaning tips, including one of our all-time most popular articles, Five Basics for Nontoxic Cleaning.

We have started this with our daughter and it makes her open her eyes to the ways we can help without even really affecting how we live. I hope she can think "green" all her life! Maybe she can come up with a solution to save the plant one day!

I think that this is a wonderful thing to be promoting, thank you! There are so many factors beyond our control in our environment and world that it just makes sense to take the control for your family's and your own welfare where you can.
