Blog: Farm Animal Abuse MUST STOP

"For 40 days in 2006, PETA undercover investigators worked as "live hangers"?the people who receive live birds and shackle them for slaughter?at a Butterball turkey plant in Ozark, Arkansas. PETA's investigators caught despicable acts of cruelty to animals on a hidden camera. What happens to these birds?and to all birds who are processed in such plants?would horrify even the most die-hard meat-eaters."

See the undercover video here

If you live in the U.S., you can help protect turkeys and other birds by filling out the form at this link , which will automatically send a letter to your representative in Congress asking him or her to ensure that birds are protected by the HMSA (Humane Methods of Slaughter Act).

Moreover you can STOP EATING MEAT to eliviate the suffering of ALL farm animals around the world!

. .. Help promote awareness by joining an
International Walk for Farm Animals
in support of
Farm Sanctuary.org ...

The Walk for Farm Animals events are held in honor of World Farm Animals Day (October 2, 2006), and are sponsored in cities across North America throughout September and October. In addition to promoting awareness about inhumane factory farming practices, walkers will raise vitally needed funds to help sustain and ensure farm animal rescue, protection, rehabilitation, and humane legislative efforts.

done! Thanks Jeffrey!

Also, I would encourage all folks who buy eggs to buy only cage free eggs.

Egg laying hens who are caged have no more space than can be outlined by a single piece of paper. Because cages are more expensive than the chickens themselves, egg producers cram as many hens as they can into one cage.

If you have school age children, you may request that your children's schools only buy cage-free eggs. The HSUS website has great materials on this, and will support you through the process.

College kids can do the same!
