This is Jodie, she is a 14 yr old BLM Mustang Mare. Jodie was almost a statistic in that the eventuality of her going to slaughter was a real possibility. Then she would have become one of the 100,000 horses that do go to slaughter annually. She has been starved, abused & beaten (whip marks on face). She is but one Wild Horse rescue and this is her, story…

I want you to know that I read the entire story - and I started crying while I was reading it. Found in a junk yard! She has given up the will to live! Loss of spirit! AFRAID OF HUMANS! What in heaven's name are we doing to animals? I am VERY disturbed by this. I have copied this story and sent it on to a couple of people, who might be able to contribute to the care for this precious animal. This is a LIFE. I am so moved - and utterly appalled. Thanks for sharing. Please keep us updated.

Hi Kindle, I want to thank you for saving Jodie, I really wish I could help all animals and I try to help all I can. Being on disability I can't give to all of them, but I try and give what I can. Just wish there were more people with a caring heart to help save more of all animals. I like this saying▬ " Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."~ Anatole France ~

the caring is greatly felt, many have been touched by the spirit of Jodie in their hearts.

but i must ask this, because i care of you all too!

i know many of my friends are disabled, or limited to budgets...i also know the story of jodie is pulling tears from you and making desire that even the poorest of you to pull funds from the bottom of pockets or purses..
please don't do this, if you have very limited to your budgets and funds this is not what we are asking of anyone.
but will tell you, those that crosspost this story, those that shared with friends, those that have sent this story to others they know, have also earned the angel wings from Jodie girl. for in those that have passed Jodie to others, there has been giving from those that have better budgets then others. we are thankful to both..
those that have given for the need of specialized transporting costs of Jodie, and thankful for those that have brought many more people to read this story of jodie.
both giving or spreading the word is equally as important and equally in giving to this beautiful brave mustang.
i love you all...hugs kindle

The Link did not work for me either on Aug.3rd but I copied the link and pasted it into the Care2 search box and it took me to it. It just goes to show that if you care about something bad will find a way.
We all talk about how we love these animals and I know that if I am living on a SMALL DISABILITY Check and live in an Assisted Living Facility and can donate.....I know that you can also. I CAN'T NEVER COULD DO ANYTHING! Common folks, put your lata's and expensive cups of coffee down or buy one less McDonalds meal and help to contribute. This is for the animals that NEED our help who have NEVER done anything wrong. Put your money where your mouth is and help these poors horses. Thank You!

Horses can and often are, treated inhumanely. There is nothing more joyous in my eyes than to see horses running and prancing about in the open fields. I cannot fathom why they are treated with such disdain. Through the ages horses have helped us in so many ways.....they have been beasts of burden. I feel that they deserve and should be able to receive the gratefulness of all mankind. With this in mind, they should be treasured and treated with kindness as any animal on our planet should be, not slaughtered because they no longer serve a purpose.

350.00 in donations towards the specialized transporting for jodie has been recieved. we are still in need of 500.00 at least to get jodie and unborn foal to safe haven and into loving hands.

please continue to spread the word, and Jodie's story.
most of Jodie's friends and help came from care2, in which i am eternally grateful.
jodie will not be able to go to her forever home of freedom of worry, if we dont' meet this transporting costs.
which would leave jodie up to adoption processes again, there will not be gurantees that her and baby will stay together for life, nor the promise that she will remain forever in her next home either. this concerns me, as "what will happen to Jodie then?
