I am trying to generate ideas for a possible trip to Guatemala next spring, March-Mayish. It would be about 2-3 weeks long, and I am open to any possibilities as to things to do/places to go/etc. The Mayan ruins are the only must-see on the itinerary, but other than that I'm flexible.
I'd love to hear from people who have experience in the area, maybe have been to Guatemala, Belieze, or southern Mexico. Any and all information would be great! Thanks!

Join Couch Surfing www.couchsurfing.com/ I am a resident El Salvador/Guatemala for 22 years and was a guide/oral interpreter based in Guatemala some year ago. If you are back packing all I am able to do is send you some general info and tell you to buy a good print guide book "Do your own homework". I am a Central American resident with a project to assist small travel providers and volunteer projects, and require for a few days an excellent photographer/writer...I have seen every cathedral, ruin and volcano ten times other..I am into people. Oh, basic to advanced Spanish speakers preferred, interpreting is very stressful.
