You may have noticed some of the exciting changes happening at our studios! We have been working hard to bring in a fresh energy and a new look. At Yoga Tree, we try to reUSE anything we can and we have a strong focus on incorporating "green" principles in our makeover process.

The retail boutiques at both Hayes and Valencia have been repainted with water-based low-VOC paint; this means cleaner air and more efficient flow of prana. It is amazing to walk into a space the day after it is painted and to visually see the difference without the toxic off-gassing of conventional paints. The new desk and shelving at the Valencia studio were made from the existing desk. Almost no new supplies where needed for this remodel!

86% of all plastic water bottles end up in landfills; they also are made of petroleum-based plastics, which leach those chemicals into the bottled water. We now offer stainless steel Klean Kanteen water bottles that are safer than plastic bottles and reduce petroleum consumption. Some of the other eco-friendly products we carry are natural rubber Jade Harmony mats, and bamboo and eco-foam blocks. We also encourage you to check out the daily schedule and register online to help reduce the use of paper.

At Yoga Tree, we care deeply about the Mother Earth. We strive to make wise choices that will positively affect future generations. Our hope is our students will take notice and also make earth-friendly choices.

Personally speaking:
Yoga Tree has four locations in San Francisco. I've been to two of their studios and noticed some of their eco-friendly efforts. I'm very excited to hear of their other efforts and their drive to inform their students about conservation.
