The history of white Australia is stained by destruction ... the destruction of many indigenous cultures and people ... and the destruction of millions of hectares of native bushland and old growth forests ... one day in 1987 these two thoughts blended into one ... and thus the words of this song ...


Children of the Sun

On the frozen canvas of the dawn
the artist waits in silence
Her ancient dignity is drawn
She stands a soul in silence
Her black dry flesh tells the story of her life
And the journey of her years
And the terror of her fears
And she cries
She cries for the children of the sun
She cries for the damage that's been done
She wants to hide but there's nowhere to run
For the ancient children of the sun
