Now the spokeman of the animal protection society, Antemio M. Pindter, ask we to  send a message of support to the declaration against the cruelty. English translation

After seeing the video showing the cruelty by the personnel of the Animal Pound in Mexico, I add my voice of support to the declaration of the APAs, which urges the Mexican Government to stop all the cruel killing of domestic animals and to implement massive and free/low cost spay and neuter campaigns, as the only ethical  and effective method to control the population of domestic animals.

Soy Antemio Maya Pindter, presidente de Protección del Perro Callejero A. C. www.properro.org , properroac@yahoo.com y además soy vocero de las APAs de México (Asociaciones Protectoras de Animales de México).
Lo que se ve en el video es una pequeñísima muestra, y así como lo oyen, pequeñísima muestra de la crueldad que ejercen los encargados de la sobrepoblación de perros y gatos en todos los estados de la república mexicana.
Si ustedes quieren apoyarnos en esta lucha a favor de tantos inocentes que a diario mueren en estos Centros de Exterminio, mándenos un correo apoyando la Carta Abierta dirigida al Presidente, Gobernadores, Presidentes Municipales, Legisladores de México, en donde denunciamos estas muestras de barbarie cometidas en estos terribles lugares. 
Les envío un saludo muy afectuoso y les deseo que sigan luchando a favor de los que no tienen voz, que nosotros, los humanos, somos sus representantes en la tierra y que esperamos no defraudarlos.

Perros adultos y cachorros son asesinados por igual, con descargas de alto voltaje. Televisa difunde las imágenes a nivel nacional.
Chetumal, Quintana Roo -- Imágenes difundidas en televisión a nivel nacional por la cadena Televisa muestran la crueldad con que son sacrificados perros y cachorros en la perrera municipal de Chetumal.
El procedimiento
Se amarra al perro, le echan agua y se le aplica una descarga eléctrica. El agua es utilizada para aumentar la potencia de la descarga, ya que el voltaje no es suficiente para matarlo.
Perros de todas razas y tamaños, adultos y cachorros, son asesinados con este cruel método.
Reporteros de Televisa mostraron al país la forma salvaje con que los perros callejeros son sacrificados en esta ciudad, sin mencionar la precariedad de las instalaciones.
Al parecer, el reportaje difundido por el programa Primero Noticias de Televisa, molestó mucho a la presidenta Municipal, Cora Amalia Castilla, quien despidió de su cargo a Gaspar Villanueva Álvarez, titular de Salud Municipal.
Sin embargo, debería ser responsabilidad de la alcaldesa vigilar que sus dependencias cumplan con los requisitos mínimos que exige la Ley para operar, ya que en el caso del sacrificio de perros, existen Normas Oficiales (NOM) que regulan la manera en que deben ser sacrificados.
De acuerdo a la Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-033-ZOO-1995, (Sacrificio humanitario de los animales domésticos y silvestres), en el apartado titulado Trato humanitario para el sacrificio de animales de compañía, se describen los procedimientos para el sacrificio de perros y gatos, sean adultos o cachorros, pero sin causar sufrimiento al animal.
Y se resalta que "El sacrificio humanitario de perros y gatos entregados voluntariamente, recogidos en la vía pública y después de haber cumplido con un periodo de observación en centros de acopio o control canino, será efectuado con métodos autorizados y bajo la supervisión del médico veterinario responsable del centro."
Desafortunadamente, estos procedimientos y las recomendaciones de la NOM no son aplicados por la administración municipal, tal y como se puede observar en el video. 
Nota: el siguiente video no es recomendable para ser visto por personas sensibles.

The video is so graphic and horrible. How do people sleep at night when they have done something like that? How can someone declare they are religious when they can do that? I have a mental image of those people getting to Heaven's gate and being met by Jesus; shaking His head slowly, Jesus will say something like, "No, you cannot enter here for this is a place of love and respect and caring for not just ourselves, but for all of my Father's creatures. You have failed to learn the lessons that we tried to teach you so, therefore, you cannot enter." At Jesus' feet will be each one of God's creatures that were killed by those people. How fitting...
