Dear Friend of the Orangutan,

It was the voices of people like you and me (people-power) expressing our views to supermarkets which first brought about the concept of sustainable palm oil. Highly visual reports from Nature Alert
www.naturealert.org first brought home to everyone the inescapable truth about what was happening in Indonesia.

Sadly, though, the same relentless killing of orangutans continues. If there is one group of people who can demand the killing stops it’s those named below, and their counterparts in other countries.
I am quite sure these CEO’s want no part of an industry responsible for so much death and destruction.
And the buying power of their companies is MASSIVE.

Would you please send the letter below to the email addresses provided? It does not matter which country you live in. All the addresses I have found to be working today.

It would be good if you could add your name to the letter, it makes it more personal, but it’s not essential. No matter where you live in the world, do please send this letter and posters.

On behalf of the orangutans whose lives depend on us.
THANK YOU
Sean

P.S. To find the contact details of the supermarket/store that you use, all you need do is make a simple search on Google. Then just adapt the letter below to suit your country and language and – send it! Imagine if the palm oil companies were to hear from their supermarket customers all over the world. You can do it and I hope you will.

Gentlemen,

I am writing to seek your assurance that no palm oil from Indonesia will be in products I might buy in your supermarket/store.

This, I appreciate, is a big ask, but if you would please take a few
moments out of your busy life to look at the posters at this link http://naturealert.blogspot.com/

I hope you will understand I want nothing to do with this genocide of orangutans in Indonesia. The killing is relentless and it has been this way for decades, largely conducted by palm oil companies.

The government of Indonesia turns a blind eye to this slaughter, but I hope you will not.

Will you please take every opportunity to express the views of your customers to the palm oil industry in Indonesia – also Malaysia, because as we know, Malaysian palm oil companies also log rainforests in Indonesia?

For the sake of the orangutans I hope the President of Indonesia and the palm oil companies he permits to conduct this genocide will listen to you - and you to your customers.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and I look forward to hearing from each of you.

Yours sincerely,

A Friend of the Orangutans

please stop this killing and destruction, all oild can be artificially created or substituted so there is no problem and surely you do not want to make your money out of the death of other species
